4 killed in Gujarat’s Anand after tempo rams into parked truck
A horrific road accident took place early Monday morning near Fatepura village close to Tarapur in Anand district. A tempo loaded with mangoes crashed into a truck parked on the roadside, killing four people on the spot and seriously injuring five others. All victims were labourers from Dahod district.
According to police and local sources, the tempo was moving at high speed when the driver lost control and rammed into the rear of the parked truck on the highway. The impact completely crushed the front portion of the tempo. Among the deceased were two women and a small child.
After receiving information about the incident, police teams reached the spot and took control of the situation. The bodies of the deceased were sent for postmortem examination, while police officials started an investigation into the cause of the accident.
The accident has also raised serious questions about highway safety in the area. Angry local residents blamed the Highway Authority for failing to place proper warning signs or accident zone boards near the spot. According to locals, several accidents have happened there in the past, but no safety measures have been taken.
Residents demanded immediate action from authorities, including proper lighting, warning boards, and strict monitoring of vehicles parked on highways.
