4 drown in Surat’s Kakrapar Dam after three friends jump in to save one

A tragic incident took place in Surat’s Kakrapar Dam where four friends died by drowning on Monday.. The group had visited the dam for fishing. However, one of the friends fell into the water, leading to the other three jumping in to save him. All four of them lost their lives.

While fishing, one of the friends slipped and fell in the water. He was unable to swim to the shore.

Seeing this, the other three friends jumped into the water. However, all of them drown due to strong current and depth of the reservoir..

As soon as the incident was reported, people gathered and the authorities were informed. A convoy of Mandvi police and a team of fire brigade rushed to the spot. After a huge effort that lasted till late night, the body of a youth has been found.

 The other three youths are still missing. An intensive search operation is being conducted by the fire department in the deep waters of the dam with the help of boats and divers
