₹4.89 Lakh worth of IMFL seized from a car in Gandhinagar

The Santej police in Gandhinagar district seized Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth nearly ₹4.89 lakh from a Scorpio vehicle on the Vadsar Chowkdi–Khatraj road. The total value of seized property, including the liquor, vehicle, and mobile phones, stands at a staggering ₹12.04 lakh, officials confirmed.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Santej police station intercepted a white Mahindra Scorpio SUV. During the search of the vehicle, officers discovered 3,240 bottles of IMFL of various brands, along with two mobile phones valued at ₹15,000, and the SUV.

The police have arrested two individuals in connection with the smuggling attempt and identified them as Jagdish Prajapati(27) and Vajiram Mewaram Rabari(20), both residents of Rajasthan. During the investigation, it was revealed that the liquor was being transported to Ahmedabad.

A case has been officially registered at Santej police station, and further investigation is underway.
