35 IIM-A Dubai students shifted to Ahmedabad campus amid Middle East tensions

At least 35 students from the Dubai campus of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) have been temporarily shifted to its main campus in Ahmedabad due to disruptions caused by the ongoing tensions involving Iran, Israel and the United States in the Middle East.
According to sources, the students belong to an executive MBA batch of the institute’s Dubai campus. They had travelled to Spain for a management study trip focused on supply chain management.
However, escalating tensions in the Middle East led to disruptions in regional airspace, preventing their return to Dubai. As a result, the institute decided to move the students to its Ahmedabad campus so that their academic schedule could continue without interruption.
Officials said the students would continue their coursework through in-person classes in Ahmedabad until the situation in the region stabilises.
Sources added that bringing the students to Ahmedabad was considered preferable to either sending them back to Dubai amid uncertain travel conditions or shifting the programme entirely to online classes.
The arrangement is understood to be temporary, and the students are expected to return to the Dubai campus once the situation normalises. The Dubai campus itself remains open and fully operational, though one of its batches has had to relocate due to the travel disruption.
In a similar development, around 80 students from a management institute in Pune who were on an overseas study tour also faced travel disruptions amid the regional tensions.
