35 Gujarat police officers reshuffled, given additional charges

In a major administrative reshuffle, the Gujarat Home Department has assigned additional responsibilities to 35 police officers at the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) and Police Inspector levels.
The decision, issued with the approval of the Governor, involves internal transfers and allocation of additional charges to officers with immediate effect, in the interest of public administration.
As per an official notification, several officers, particularly from SC/ST cells, have been given additional responsibilities as Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) across various districts.
The reshuffle covers districts including Surat, Ahmedabad Rural, Kheda, Sabarkantha, Mehsana and Amreli. Among key changes, DySP Chirag Vadodaria of Surat Rural has been given additional charge as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of ‘C’ Division in Surat city, while DySP Astha Rana of Ahmedabad Rural has been appointed as SDPO of Viramgam.
In addition, three Police Inspectors have been entrusted with higher responsibilities to fill existing vacancies. PI A V Parmar of Anand has been assigned the charge of ACP of ‘A’ Division in Ahmedabad city, while PI D V Dodia of Banaskantha has been given charge as DySP in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) at Gandhinagar.
