300 new buses to hit roads in Gujarat from May 16

Gujarat government will deploy 300 new buses across routes starting from May 16 without any formal inauguration, ribbon-cutting, or VIP protocol events.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi announced that the buses will directly enter public service to benefit citizens immediately. Emphasising a citizen-centric approach, he stated that the government has chosen to focus on public welfare rather than ceremonial formalities."
Despite inducting such a large fleet of buses, no grand inauguration, ribbon-cutting, or protocol-driven VIP programmes will be organised," Sanghavi said. "The time and government funds that would be spent on such events will be saved, and the buses will be put straight onto the routes for the people."
The decision aligns with Chief Minister's 'Zero Ceremony' resolve aimed at avoiding unnecessary expenditure and wastage of public money. By skipping ceremonial events, the administration intends to ensure prompt service delivery while promoting fuel efficiency and environmental protection in line with current needs.
