3 held for Koth house robbery, Ahmedabad Rural Police recover stolen phones, cash

The Ahmedabad Rural Police have arrested three men in connection with a house robbery in Koth village of Dholka taluka, days after armed assailants allegedly assaulted residents and decamped with cash, jewellery and mobile phones worth over ₹2.10 lakh.
The robbery was reported on June 14, when unidentified accused allegedly entered a residence in Koth village, attacked the complainant and a witness, threatened them with dire consequences and fled with gold and silver ornaments worth ₹55,500, cash of ₹90,000 and three mobile phones valued at ₹65,000.
A case was subsequently registered at Koth Police Station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including sections relating to robbery, causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and common intention.
Police said the breakthrough came after receiving specific intelligence that the suspects had assembled in Shihoripura village. Acting on the information, the teams apprehended Jayendrabhai alias Jaylo Bhupatbhai Makwana, a resident of Shihoripura in Dholka taluka, Hardikbhai alias Bhupi Washrambhai Makwana, a resident of Kesardi village in Bavla taluka, and Jagmalbhai alias Gogo Mansukhbhai Solanki, a resident of Daran village in Sanand taluka.
During the operation, police recovered three stolen mobile phones valued at ₹65,000 and ₹3,500 in cash, taking the total recovery to ₹68,500. Efforts are underway to trace and recover the remaining stolen property, including jewellery and cash.
Police records show that the prime accused, Jayendrabhai alias Jaylo Makwana, has previously been booked in multiple criminal cases registered at Koth and Dhandhuka police stations under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Gujarat Police Act.
The investigation was carried out by teams led by Police Inspector H C Gohil of Koth Police Station, along with personnel from the Ahmedabad Rural LCB and SOG.
Officials said further investigation is in progress to ascertain whether the accused were involved in other similar offences and to recover the remaining stolen valuables.
