A shocking incident from Pali Karambeli village in Umargam taluka of Gujarat’s Valsad has sent shockwaves across the region after a woman allegedly killed her three minor children following a domestic dispute with her husband. Two of the deceased were nine-month-old twin infants.

According to preliminary information, the incident took place late on Saturday night. The deceased children have been identified as Aryan and Vihaan, nine-month-old twin brothers, and their three-year-old sister Nayara.

Police sources and family members suspect that the children’s mother, identified as 22-year-old Nisha Halpati, allegedly administered a poisonous substance to all three children before consuming poison herself.

After the incident came to light, a large team from Bhilad police station rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. The woman was initially shifted for emergency treatment and later referred to Valsad Civil Hospital, where her condition is said to be critical.

According to local sources, the children’s father, Sanjay, works on ships and had recently returned home after a voyage. Family members alleged that the couple had a heated argument on Saturday evening following which the woman allegedly took the extreme step in anger and distress.

Relatives of the deceased children have also claimed that the killings were linked to ongoing domestic conflict between the couple.

Police officials said statements of family members and villagers are being recorded while forensic evidence is being collected from the house. Authorities have not yet officially confirmed the exact cause of death or the nature of the poisonous substance allegedly used.

The bodies of the three children have been sent for postmortem examination, while the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has also been roped into the investigation. Police said further legal action will be taken after the postmortem and forensic reports are received.
