3,500-kg Bharat Mata sculpture to come up at Nava Vadaj Circle in Ahmedabad

A massive 3,500-kg bronze Bharat Mata sculpture, standing 15 feet tall, is set to be installed at the Nava Vadaj Circle in Ahmedabad. The circle is being redeveloped at a cost of ₹50 lakh, with foundation work currently underway.

The project is funded through grants from the area’s MLA and ward corporator, while contractor Ashish Infrastructure has been assigned the execution. Given the sculpture’s heavy weight, a 6-foot-deep foundation is being constructed to support the structure. The contractor has been instructed to complete the circle redevelopment and installation within six months.

This will reportedly be the first sculpture of this height and weight to be installed in Ahmedabad.
