29-year-Old Found Dead In Vadodara Hotel Room, Friend Detained For Questioning

A 29-year-old man was found dead inside a hotel room in Vadodara’s Dandiyabazar area, prompting Raopura police to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. Ghulam Mustafa Khurshid Ahmed Nayyar, a resident of Khatkiwad in the Panigate area, was found in Room 302 of Hotel Vintage Inn.

Police have detained his friend Kishan Vasava for questioning after he reported the death. An accidental death case has been registered, while the exact cause of death is being established through a post-mortem examination.

Room changed after power failure

According to the preliminary investigation, Ghulam Mustafa and Vasava, a resident of Bhayli village, arrived at the hotel late at night.

The hotel initially allotted them Room 304. However, after a power supply problem affected the room, the two were shifted to Room 302 at around 3 am.

Police said the two men had been communicating with each other through WhatsApp for some time.

Friend alerts police after body found

Ghulam Mustafa was later found dead inside Room 302. Vasava informed the police about the incident, following which a team from Raopura police station reached the hotel.

ACP Ashok Rathwa and the Raopura police station PI were also among the police officials who went to the spot as news of the death drew a crowd outside the hotel.

The police took possession of the body and sent it to Sayaji Hospital for post-mortem.

Cause of death yet to be confirmed

A preliminary possibility being considered is that Ghulam Mustafa suffered a brain haemorrhage after falling. However, police said the precise cause of death will only be known once the post-mortem report is received.

Investigators are questioning Vasava to establish what happened inside the room and are examining his role in the incident.

The Raopura police have registered a case of accidental death and are continuing their investigation into the circumstances leading to the 29-year-old’s death.
