221 Talukas of Gujarat welcomes rain, heavy rainfall forecast for next 48 hours in the state
30 flights were disrupted, 4 cancelled at Ahmedabad
All talukas of Rajkot had received significant rainfall
The Met Department has predicted heavy rain in the state, including rainfall with thunder in some districts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra.
Three pressure systems that are present in the state may decrease the intensity of the rain after two days. So far, 221 of 252 talukas of the state have welcomed rain, with Junagadh receiving the highest rainfall of 259 mm.
Ahmedabad rains
Ahmedabad witnessed cloudy weather in the early morning and downpours in many areas after 10 a.m. on June 29. Citizens faced difficulties as many areas were flooded due to heavy rain. Naroda, New Naroda, Nikol, Krishnanagar, Saijpur, Memco, Shivranjani, Shyamal, Satellite, Vastrapur, and areas near SG highway, which resulted in roadblocks and congestion on the road. On the other hand, the city has witnessed a cooler atmosphere.
30 flights were disrupted, 4 cancelled at Ahmedabad
Due to heavy rain, schedules of more than 30 flights were disrupted, with three flights diverted, whereas four flights were cancelled on June 29. Between 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.,16 flights faced take-off and landing difficulties owing to low visibility.
Rainfall was recorded in all talukas of Rajkot
Till midnight of June 29, all talukas of Rajkot had received significant rainfall. Paddhari taluka received 72 mm, Rajkot taluka 53 mm, Lodhika 27 mm, Kotda Sangani 33 mm, Jasdan 65 mm, Gondal 55 mm, Jamkandorna 158 mm, Upleta 127 mm, Dhoraji 140 mm, Jetpur 132 mm, and Vichhiya taluka received 8 mm of rainfall on June 29.
Surat and other districts
Mandvi taluka of Surat, Kutiyana taluka of Porbandar and Keshod, as well as Visavadar taluka of Junagadh in the Saurashtra region, recorded more than 100 mm of rainfall.
