A cylinder blast incident was reported from the Kapodra area of Surat on Thursday after a massive fire broke out in a factory near Rachana Circle, triggering multiple LPG cylinder explosions. Two people lost their lives in the incident, while at least 8-9 others sustained serious injuries.

According to reports, the fire started suddenly inside the factory and quickly spread across the building, engulfing the premises within minutes. Several workers were present at the time, leading to panic and chaos.

During the blaze, two LPG gas cylinders exploded with a loud impact, intensifying the fire and causing significant damage. The explosions also led to an increase in casualties.

Upon receiving information, the Surat Fire Department rushed to the spot. Considering the severity of the situation, more than 10 fire tenders from seven fire stations were deployed. Firefighters carried out rescue operations and managed to safely evacuate over eight workers trapped inside the building.

The injured workers were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities have confirmed that two people died in the incident.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the explosion was caused by two gas cylinders, which worsened the situation. However, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Police and fire officials have initiated a detailed investigation and are conducting further inquiries.
