2,500 two-wheelers, 1,000 cars booked in Ahmedabad on first day of GST rate cut

As GST rate cuts came into effect on Monday, coinciding with the first day of Navratri, prices of several items, including vehicles, dropped, leading to a surge in bookings across Gujarat.
Reports indicate that between 8,000 and 10,000 two-wheelers and over 2,500 cars were sold across the state on the first day. Vehicle buyers in Gujarat reportedly benefited by over ₹50 crore due to the GST cuts.
Ahmedabad reportedly saw the sale of around 2,500 two-wheelers and 8000-1,000 cars, providing customers in the city with savings of over ₹10 crore.
During the Navratri-Dussehra period, it is estimated that around 30,000 cars will be sold in Gujarat, with about 4,000 of them coming from Ahmedabad alone.
According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations, under the new GST rates, customers can save between ₹7,000 and ₹20,000 on two-wheelers and between ₹60,000 and ₹2.5 lakh on cars.
Officials said that due to the GST cuts, favorable monsoon conditions, and a positive economic environment, around 10 lakh two-wheelers and 30,000 cars are expected to be sold during Navratri.
