A 19-year-old youth was stabbed to death in the Behrampura area in Ahmedabad on Saturday night, triggering panic among residents and raising fresh concerns over law and order in the city. The Ahmedabad Crime Branch cracked the case within hours and arrested two accused, including a minor.

The incident occurred around 10 pm when Himesh Parmar was allegedly attacked with a knife by two youths. The assailants fled after leaving him critically injured on the road. He succumbed to his injuries at the spot. A team from Kagadapith Police Station rushed to the scene and began an investigation. The body was sent for post-mortem examination.

During the probe, police identified 19-year-old Gautam alias ‘Indo’ Solanki and a 17-year-old minor as the accused. Preliminary investigation suggests that the dispute began after the victim had repeatedly objected to the accused sitting near his house and creating a disturbance. Police said the accused allegedly nursed a grudge and conspired to murder him. The main accused is suspected to have procured the knife from Chotila prior to the attack.

Both accused were detained within hours to prevent them from fleeing. Police are continuing further interrogation and investigation into the case.

The late-night murder on a public road has spread fear in the locality, while the victim’s family remains in shock over the tragic loss.
