19-year-old Rapido driver hit by truck on SG Highway, dies

A 19-year-old Rapido driver, Harsh Goswami, lost his life after a truck rammed into his bike on SG Highway on Saturday. A female passenger riding with him was also injured in the incident.

Goswami, a resident of Gandhinagar, worked as a Zepto delivery agent and also drove for Rapido in Ahmedabad to support his family.

On Saturday, Goswami picked up the passenger, Suman, from Bhat Circle heading towards Navrangpura. While passing through Jagatpur, a passing truck suddenly changed lanes, causing the vehicle to crash into Goswami’s bike.

Both Goswami and Suman sustained serious injuries. Goswami succumbed to his injuries, while Suman is reportedly receiving treatment.

Goswami’s father, Vijaygiri Goswami, has filed a complaint against the truck driver. The police have launched a probe into the matter.

Earlier in May, a 22-year-old woman tragically lost her life after being run over by a speeding cement mixer truck on Dumas Airport Road in Surat on Thursday morning. The fatal accident occurred while the young woman was riding her two-wheeler to the office from home.
