The rains have washed away the roads in Ahmedabad, with areas such as Paldi, Naranpura, Navrangpura, Chandlodiya, and Ghatlodiya reporting over 1,600 potholes this season.
Although some potholes have been filled, heavy rains have washed away the repairs, exposing the work of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
Areas with most damaged roads/potholes–
| Area | Potholes | Area | Potholes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paldi | 123 | Stadium | 78 |
| Vasna | 244 | Navavadaj | 138 |
| Navrangpura | 344 | Ranip | 151 |
| Naranpura | 195 | Sabarmati | 146 |
| Chandkheda | 34 |
In the North-West zones, including Bodakdev, Thaltej, Ghatlodiya, and Chandlodiya, 648 potholes have been recorded.
To address the issue, a meeting was held with AMC officials where the Municipal Commissioner directed teams to take immediate action to fill the potholes across the city.
While repair work has started, some potholes are still not being filled properly, leading to the development of new potholes in the same locations.
