184 DNA samples matched, 11 yet to be identified after Ahmedabad plane crash

In the aftermath of the AI171 crash in Ahmedabad on June 12, the authorities at the Civil Hospital in Asarwa have been working tirelessly to identify the deceased and hand them over to their kin.

As of now, 184 DNA samples have matched and the handing over of the bodies is still ongoing, there are still 11 bodies that are yet to be identified.

Out of 270 deaths, 241 were people on board (229 passengers, 12 crew members), five persons died at the B J Medical College hostel mess, eight succumbed to injuries on the campus, and five from burns. This leaves 11 bodies still unclaimed.

The authorities have appealed to the public to come out and report if someone they know has been missing.
