14-year-old injured in Kutch after phone explodes in pocket

A 14-year-old boy was injured in Gujarat’s Kutch was injured after a phone in his pocket exploded while walking. The incident took place on Saturday in Bhadra village of Lakhpat taluka. 

The victim, identified as 14-year-old Rajveer Pawar, was walking with his Motorola phone in the pocket of his trousers when it suddenly exploded.

He suffered minor injuries on his thigh. The phone then slipped out of his pocket and fell to the ground.

In the preliminary police investigation, it was revealed that the boy had just left home after charging his phone. It is suspected that the phone may have overheated during charging, leading to the explosion.

Earlier in October, three students working on a lithium battery project were injured after a blast and subsequent fire at the Savvy Strata apartment on L J Campus Road in Sarkhej, Ahmedabad. 

Emergency response teams quickly swung into action and managed to control the fire before it spread further inside the flat. The three youths suffered burn injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Residents of the apartment also alerted the police regarding the incident.
