11-year-old girl dies after house collapses during storm in Narmada district
An 11-year-old girl named Rinku died after a house collapsed during a heavy storm in Lachras village of Nandod taluka, Narmada district, in the early hours of the night. The incident happened between 2 am to 3 am when heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms hit the area.
According to reports, a family was sleeping inside their house when a nearby wall collapsed. The falling wall hit the roof, causing the entire slab to collapse. The family was trapped under the rubble. Hearing the loud noise, nearby villagers rushed to help. They removed the debris and rescued the family members. All of them were taken to Rajpipla Civil Hospital.
Doctors declared Rinku dead after examination. Her parents survived the accident and suffered only minor injuries. Officials said the storm was part of a sudden change in weather conditions that affected several areas of Narmada district.
Local authorities have started assessing the damage caused by the storm and collecting information about affected families. The administration is expected to prepare a report and take necessary steps for relief and assistance in the affected areas.
Villagers also expressed anger against the administration. They said that Lachras village faces waterlogging and flooding every year during the monsoon season. Despite repeated complaints and requests, no permanent solution has been provided.
The villagers are now demanding immediate government assistance for the affected family and stronger measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
