Gujarat government’s promise of providing relief for farmers affected by recent natural calamities including severe flooding, remains unfulfilled as ₹102 crore are still owed to farmers across several districts.

Despite the announcement of a relief fund package to assist those who suffered losses due to heavy rains this year, the funds are yet to be distributed.

Farmers from Anand, Aravalli, Dahod, Banaskantha, Narmada, Kheda, Navsari, and Panchmahal districts are among those who have not received any relief funds.

The heavy rainfall in 2023 devastated crops throughout the state, disrupting farming operations in every district.

While the state government declared a relief fund of ₹641.39 crore for farmers across 31 districts, a year has passed, and the amount of ₹102.51 crore allocated to certain districts remains undistributed.

The lack of financial assistance has sparked outrage among farmers, who are calling for immediate action from the government. They are demanding transparency and accountability regarding the relief funds that were promised but not delivered.
