In a shocking incident in a school in Bagasara, Amreli, around 40 students of Classes 5, 6, and 7 were found with blade scars on their hands and legs, reportedly inflicted by themselves.

Students, allegedly addicted to video games, allegedly inflicted cuts on each other's hands using pencil sharpeners. It has also been learned that one student even offered ₹10 to fellow students to make cuts on their hands with a blade.

This matter remained hidden for almost eight days before eventually coming to light and reaching the police, as per reports.

The mysterious blood scars of students of Mota Munjiyasar forced the concerned parents to inquire further. On asking the students they replied, ‘Teachers told us not to tell anything’.

As the vague answer led to further frenzy among parents, they rushed to school authorities for answers. When the school authorities failed to give a satisfactory response, parents took the help of the gram panchayat.

In an application, the parent wrote, “We humbly request that in our Mota Munjiyasar Primary School, an incident occurred between March 19 and March 22 where approximately 40 to 50 children attempted to cut the veins on their hands and legs with a sharp blade.”

“This incident happened during school hours. When we met the principal in person to inquire about this, he stated that he had no responsibility in this matter and was unaware of it. Since the lives of the children are at risk, we respectfully request you to investigate the situation and take appropriate action,” the letter read.

The gram panchayat then approached police, demanding an inquiry into the incident.
