In a suspected case of large-scale internal theft, a prominent Apple product retail outlet at Shop in Raspan Market, Ahmedabad, reported misappropriation of Apple devices and business cash worth over ₹1.02 crore, allegedly carried out by its own store manager and a salesman.

As per a formal complaint filed with the Ahmedabad Police, Dineshbhai Suvekshatbhai Parikh, owner of Green Management, which operates the Apple-authorised store, stated that his company has been in the Apple retail business since 2006 and regularly deals in high-end Apple devices including iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, and accessories.

On July 3, 2025, after the store underwent a routine audit around 8.30 pm, auditors discovered significant discrepancies in both inventory and finances. Upon physical inspection and cross-verification of stock, several high-value products were missing, and the cash kept in the case counter estimated at ₹6.66 lakh was also untraceable.

The missing inventory, as detailed in the complaint, included:

  • 85 iPhones valued at ₹85.91 lakh
  • 7 MacBooks worth ₹8.99 lakh
  • 1 iPad priced at ₹34,900
  • 18 accessories (including cables, chargers, adapters, and Apple Pencils) worth ₹52,100
  • Business cash amounting to ₹6.66 lakh

The total loss was estimated to be ₹1.02 crore

Parikh named two staffers, Kuldeep Singh Jadeja (store manager) and Mayank Singh Jhala (salesman), as the primary suspects in the case. It is alleged that the duo misappropriated the products and cash without informing senior management or maintaining any documentation.

Auditors who conducted the surprise audit, have corroborated the findings. The audit report mentions that the missing items were not reflected in any sale or transfer records and that neither accused could provide any explanation for the shortfall.

When both employees were asked about the missing items and cash, they denied any knowledge. However, the stock discrepancy pointed to wilful misappropriation.

The Nikol police have registered a case and launched an investigation under sections related to criminal breach of trust, theft, and criminal conspiracy. Preliminary inquiries suggest that the accused may have sold the products unofficially or handed them over to unidentified individuals.

Senior officers from the Ahmedabad Crime Branch are also expected to join the investigation given the high value of the stolen items and the possibility of the stolen goods being sold in the grey market.

No arrests have been made at the time of reporting. Police said CCTV footage from the premises is being reviewed, and statements from all employees and third-party vendors will be recorded to trace the stolen items.
