A complaint was registered at the Kheda police station against four persons who arrived in an Eeco car on the highway, intercepted an auto-rickshaw and looted a bag containing ₹1 crore.

Mehul Bodana, a businessman dealing in food grains in Ahmedabad, had asked his friend Raju Dhabi to collect the money from Rahid in Nadiad.

Dhabi went to collect the cash from Rahid at Nadiad in an auto-rickshaw. Dhabi and Rahid had left Nadiad on Monday after withdrawing the cash from Axis Bank. Rahid’s wife was also accompanying them in the rickshaw.

At Nadiad crossroads, Rahid and his wife got off from the rickshaw.

Around 5 pm on Monday, as the rickshaw crossed the Betdi Bridge, an Eeco car intercepted it. There were four accused in the car, two of whom got out and created a dramatic scene, accusing the auto driver of driving under the influence of substance.

During the commotion, they swiftly grabbed the cloth bag containing the cash and fled the scene. Upon learning of the incident, the Kheda police, along with the LCB (Local Crime Branch) and SOG (Special Operations Group) teams, launched an investigation into the case.
