Leopard Killed After Being Hit By Vehicle On Kodinar-Sutrapada Highway In Gujarat

A leopard was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Kodinar-Sutrapada highway near Singsar in Gujarat’s Gir Somnath district, forest officials said.

Leopard Dies After Highway Collision

The incident occurred when the leopard was crossing the highway. The vehicle allegedly struck the animal and fled the spot, leaving the leopard dead on the road.

Another leopard was reportedly moving alongside the animal when the collision took place. It fled into a nearby field following the incident.

Forest Team Recovers Carcass

A Forest Department team reached the spot after being alerted and took custody of the leopard’s carcass.

Officials have begun further proceedings and are monitoring the surrounding fields for signs of the second leopard.

Vehicle Identification Underway

The Forest Department is attempting to identify the vehicle involved in the accident and is investigating the circumstances surrounding the leopard’s death.

Officials are also keeping watch over the area to track the movement of the leopard that fled following the collision.
