What caused Shefali Jariwala’s death Did anti ageing injections have any role

The latest developments in the Shefali Jariwala death case indicate that her unexpected passing may be connected to medical reasons. She died on June 27 at the age of 42. She was declared dead upon her arrival at the hospital.

Investigating officers and forensic experts have gathered crucial details pointing to health-related factors as a possible cause of her death.

Sources state that Shefali had been consistently undergoing anti-aging treatments for several years. On June 27, despite observing a fast for a religious ritual at home, she reportedly received her routine injection, which may have triggered the cardiac arrest that led to her death.

According to sources, Jariwala had taken her monthly anti-aging injection on June 27, despite fasting that day due to a religious ceremony at home.

A source informed that evening, between 10 and 11 pm, her health reportedly declined rapidly—her body began trembling and she lost consciousness. Medical experts stated that pills or injections taken on an empty stomach can make the body vulnerable. It can cause heartburn and in some cases, there is sudden lowering of blood pressure and shivering, that can lead to possible fainting.

She was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. At the time of the incident, the actress was at home with her husband Parag Tyagi, her mother, and a few others.

Investigators have since seized various medications from the residence, including anti-ageing vials, vitamin supplements, and pills related to gastric care. So far, eight statements have been recorded from family members, domestic staff, and medical professionals.

It is being reported that the police have found no signs of dispute or foul play in the case.

According to experts, monthly anti-aging injections like Botox and synthetic growth hormone analogs like sermorelin carry some side-effects and risks. Botox can cause localised pain, redness, swelling, headache, and temporary muscle weakness, while more serious but rare issues include difficulty breathing due to spreading of toxin, as per WebMD.

Sermorelin, on the other hand, is less-regulated than botox and is used off-label by many. It may cause nausea, sleepiness, and even respiratory issues which may need immediate medical attention, as reported by Healthline.

Experts recommend that such injectables must be administered only under the supervision of qualified professionals in clinical settings.

According to the latest statement, the Amboli police station has so far recorded statements from 10 people in the case. The police further stated that the postmortem report is expected within the next one or two days, and the real cause of Shefali’s death will be known only once the PM examination report has been received.

As part of the investigation, the police have also inspected the CCTV cameras installed in Shefali's building, but nothing suspicious has emerged in the investigation so far.

Earlier on Sunday, Shefali’s husband Parag Tyagi performed his late wife’s Ashthi Visarjan at Mumbai’s Juhu Beach, the videos of which are doing rounds on social media.

Parag, along with Shefali’s father and brother also performed her last rites as per Hindu tradition at Mumbai's Oshiwara Crematorium on Saturday.

After the cremation, Parag requested everyone to pray for his pari. Addressing the media, he said, “Please mazak drama mat banaiyega. Main ab sab se request karta hu please meri pari ke liye sab pray kariyega’ (Please avoid any drama and don’t indulge in frivoulous things. I request you all to kindly pray for my Pari).”

Shefali Jariwala, first became popular after appearing in the song ‘Kaanta Laga’ and subsequently had a stint on ‘Bigg Boss 13’.
