Warner Bros announces ‘Lord of the Rings’ cast for The Hunt for Gollum

Warner Bros has officially announced a new film in the The Lord of the Rings universe, ‘The Hunt for Gollum’, slated for release on December 17, 2027.

In a recent Instagram post, the studio revealed a star-studded cast lineup. The names mentioned include Andy Serkis as Gollum/Sméagol, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, and Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins.

The post also lists Kate Winslet as Marigol, Jamie Dornan as Strider, Leo Woodall as Halvard, and Lee Pace as Thranduil.

Sharing the announcement, Warner Bros wrote: “We’ve been waiting for you, precious. The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum only in theaters 17 December 2027.”

The Lord of the Rings, directed by Peter Jackson and based on the novels by J R R Tolkien, is widely regarded as one of the greatest film franchises of all time.
