Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ likely to release on May 8 after delays

Fans of Vijay may not have to wait much longer, as his film Jana Nayagan is now likely to hit theatres on May 8, as per reports. An official announcement from the makers is still awaited.
The film, produced by KVN productions, was earlier planned for a pongal 2026 release. However, it got delayed due to issues related to the censor process. Reports say the film faced problems with the Central Board of Film Certification, which stopped its release at that time. Now, it is believed that these issues have been sorted, clearing the path for its theatrical release. Still, the censor certificate has not yet been updated on the official portal.
The update has brought some relief to fans, especially after the film was recently leaked online in HD quality. This leak may affect its box office performance, but Vijay’s strong fan following is expected to support the film in theatres. There is also a lot of buzz because the movie is said to be his final film, which has increased curiosity among audiences.
Directed by H Vinoth, the film reportedly shows Vijay in the role of a former police officer. The movie also features actors like Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Mamitha Baiju.
Interestingly, the film is expected to release after the Tamil Nadu election results on May 4, which could also impact its opening. For now, fans are waiting for an official confirmation from the makers.
