TV Actor Rohit Chandel Arrested Under POCSO for Allegedly Stalking, Harassing Minor Girl

Television actor Rohit Chandel has been arrested by Mumbai's Ghatkopar police for allegedly stalking, repeatedly calling, harassing and assaulting a 16-year-old girl. The actor has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act along with relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Minor Alleges Months of Harassment

According to the police complaint, the accused allegedly made repeated phone calls to the minor from his personal number as well as multiple other phone numbers between December 2025 and July 7, allegedly harassing her over several months.

Police said the girl eventually approached authorities after the alleged harassment continued despite repeated attempts to avoid contact.

Alleged Assault Outside Residence

The complaint further states that on July 5, Chandel allegedly confronted the girl near her residential building in Mumbai's eastern suburbs.

According to the FIR, he allegedly chased her, picked an argument, verbally abused her and physically assaulted her by hitting her with his hands before leaving the spot.

Booked Under POCSO, BNS

Police have registered a case against the actor under Section 12 of the POCSO Act and Sections 78, 115(2) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Further investigation is underway.

Actor Known for Television Roles

Rohit Chandel began his television career in 2014 with supporting roles before gaining recognition through youth-oriented and family dramas.

He rose to prominence after portraying Peshwa Baji Rao in Kashibai Bajirao Ballal and later appeared in a lead role in Star Plus' Pandya Store. He has also featured in the streaming series Escaype Live.

The actor maintains an active presence on social media, where he frequently shares updates related to his personal life, fitness routine and shooting schedules.
