In his tribute, Sonar described Thakur as more than a friend and recalled watching his struggles during the early stages of his career.
“Still can't believe that you are no longer with us. You were not just a friend but like a little brother to me. We had so many projects planned together, and I still remember witnessing your struggles during your initial days and seeing your journey,” he wrote.
Calling the news heartbreaking, Sonar added that Thakur would always be remembered.
Actor Had Met Friend 10 Days Before His Death
Speaking to The Times of India, Sonar said he was shocked to learn of Thakur’s death as they had met just 10 days earlier.
“I couldn't believe it because I had met him just 10 days earlier. I was shocked to hear that he had gone to sleep at night and never woke up. I couldn't understand what could have happened,” he said.
Sonar added that he initially spoke to Thakur’s brother but later visited the family, including the actor’s mother and brother, on Saturday. During the visit, he learnt that Thakur had suffered a seizure and died during the episode.
Anuj Thakur Followed a Regular Fitness Routine
According to Sonar, Thakur was an early riser who woke up at 4.30 am every day and followed a routine that included fitness activities and jogging.
However, on the morning of October 27, the actor did not wake up when his alarm rang. Sonar said Thakur’s mother went to his room to wake him and found that he had died.
