Top Gun 3 confirmed, Tom Cruise set to return as Maverick

Top Gun 3 is officially moving forward, with Tom Cruise set to reprise his iconic role as Pete Maverick Mitchell. The confirmation came from Paramount Pictures during its presentation at CinemaCon.

Studio executive Josh Greenstein revealed that the project is currently in development, with the script already in progress. He also confirmed that longtime collaborator Jerry Bruckheimer will return as producer, alongside Cruise leading the cast once again.

Although Cruise did not attend the event in person, he appeared in a specially prepared video shown during the presentation. The clip highlighted the studio’s dedication to theatrical releases, ending with Cruise delivering a confident message about the future of cinema.

Despite taking on varied roles including his upcoming film Digger, where he portrays an older character Cruise continues to return to one of his most celebrated franchises, keeping fans eager for the next chapter.
