Sonu Sood Reaches Flood-Hit Nepal To Help Victims, Vows Continued Relief Support

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has travelled to Nepal to meet people affected by the devastating flash floods and support relief efforts as communities continue to deal with widespread destruction and loss of life.

The actor shared pictures from his visit to Nepal on Instagram on Tuesday, showing him meeting people affected by the disaster. He also pledged to help victims rebuild their lives after the tragedy.

Sonu Sood reaches Nepal with relief supplies

Sharing the pictures, Sood wrote: “They lost their homes, their families, their childhood…but together, we will help them find a new beginning. Nepal, you are not alone.”

Speaking to ANI, Sood said he travelled to Nepal to meet flood victims and brought relief material from India, including blankets and food supplies.

“We are here to meet the victims of the flood. We got lots of stuff from India. We just want to be with the people who are in need and will try to bring their lives back,” he said.

Sood added that his team was asking affected people about their immediate requirements and would try to arrange the necessary supplies from India.

“Sending from India to Nepal is always a little challenge because we need a lot of people,” he said, adding that relief would continue in the coming months.

“We will make sure that not only this month but also in the coming months, the relief keeps coming,” Sood said.

Fans hail actor for helping flood victims

Sood’s visit drew praise from fans on social media, with several describing him as a real-life hero and praising his decision to travel to the flood-hit areas.

Comments on his post included messages such as “Our hero” and “Messiah is on duty”, while others thanked the actor for supporting people affected by the disaster.

Bollywood voices support for Nepal

Sood is not the only Bollywood personality to speak out following the floods.

Actor Manisha Koirala has appealed to the international community to come forward and help Nepal recover from the devastation caused by the flash floods on August 26.

Sunita Ahuja, wife of actor Govinda and a reality television personality, also expressed solidarity with Nepal, calling it her “Matrabhoomi” and urging the Bollywood community to extend support to flood victims.

Nepal flash floods leave thousands affected

The flash floods have caused widespread destruction and loss of life across Nepal. According to figures cited from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), 939 people have died and 3,925 remain missing, including 592 foreign nationals.

Rescue and recovery operations are continuing in several affected districts, including Rasuwa and Nuwakot.

The Indian Embassy in Nepal has also issued information on the process for identifying the mortal remains of Indian citizens who died in the floods.
