Rani Mukerji, Shah Rukh Khan receive their first national awards

Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji received their first National Awards on Tuesday for performances in their respective films by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
Mukerji was honoured with the ‘Best Actress’ award by the President of India for her praiseworthy and hard-hitting performance in ‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway’.
Shah Rukh Khan who won the ‘Best Actor’ award for his film ‘Jawan’. This is King Khan’s first National Award after more than three decades in Bollywood. He shared the honour with Vikrant Massey, who bagged the ‘Best Actor’ award for his performance in ‘12th Fail’.
Singer Shilpa Rao wins National Award
Playback singer Shilpa Rao was feted with the 71st National Film Award for her work in the song ‘Chaleya’ from the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Jawan’.
Reacting to her win, the singer said in a statement shared by her team, “This win is not my own. The National Award belongs to all those who stood by me, and to Jamshedpur, my hometown that shaped me and continues to be my anchor”.
Gujarati film ‘Vash’ was awarded the best Gujarati language film, with Janki Bodiwala also getting her ‘Best Actress in a Supporting Role’ award for the same film.
