Austrian businessman Peter Haag now claims that he initiated divorce proceedings against actor Celina Jaitly in Austria before the actor filed her domestic violence case in Mumbai, as per reports. Haag reportedly moved the Austrian court where the couple’s civil marriage was registered in 2010 seeking dissolution of their 15-year marriage.

Following Haag’s petition abroad, Jaitly this week approached the Andheri magistrate court accusing Haag of emotional, physical, verbal and financial abuse. The Mumbai court has issued a notice to Haag and fixed the next hearing for December 12.

In her application under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, Jaitly alleges she was compelled to flee their home in Austria on October 11 and return to India without her three children. She claims Haag has since restricted her access to them, allowing only one interaction on November 14.

Jaitly has sought ₹10 lakh per month in maintenance and ₹50 crore as compensation for alleged loss of income due to years of abuse. She has also sought protection over the couple’s Andheri flat and has demanded reimbursement for alleged financial losses and misappropriated funds.

Her petition details a series of alleged incidents dating back to the early years of their relationship, including claims of coercion, abusive conduct in India and abroad, and forced relocations that she says derailed her acting career.

Haag has not commented publicly on the allegations, but his legal representatives, according to reports, attribute the breakdown of the marriage to Jaitly.
