Palash Muchhal denies cheating, ₹40 lakh fraud allegations, calls claims ‘baseless’

Musician Palash Muchhal, who has been at the receiving end after his marriage to cricketer Smriti Mandhana was called off, has strongly denied allegations of cheating and financial fraud levelled against him. Calling the claims “baseless and factually incorrect”, Muchhal said that he would pursue legal action against those making them.

Muchhal issued an official statement on Friday night, a day after Vidnyan Mane, an individual who claims to be a childhood friend of Smriti, made serious allegations against him on social media. Mane had accused Muchhal of infidelity and cheating him of more than ₹40 lakh.

“In light of the allegations made by Sangli-based Vidnyan Mane on social media, I wish to state that these claims against me are entirely baseless and factually incorrect,” Muchhal said in a statement shared on his Instagram Stories.

He alleged that the accusations were made with malicious intent to harm his reputation. “They have been made to tarnish my image and will not go unchallenged. My lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, is exploring all legal avenues, and this matter will be dealt with strictly through appropriate legal channels,” he added.

The controversy surfaced a few months after Muchhal’s reported wedding with Smriti Mandhana was called off. Mane claimed he was present during the wedding functions in November 2025 and alleged that Muchhal was caught with another woman during the celebrations.

As per media , Muchhal was caught red-handed with another woman in bed and alleged that the situation led to a confrontation. He further alleged that Muchhal and his family had cheated him financially and said he had filed a complaint in Sangli accusing the musician of fraud involving over ₹40 lakh.

Mane also claimed to possess documentary evidence, including chat messages and call recordings, which he said he was willing to share with the police and the media.

Muchhal, however, has categorically denied all allegations and maintained that the claims are false, stating that he will seek legal remedy to address the matter.
