Hollywood actor Halle Berry has confirmed that she is engaged to marry singer-songwriter Van Hunt, signalling her return to the aisle for a fourth time, as per reports.

The Oscar-winning actor, 59, has been in a relationship with Hunt for nearly six years.

As per reports, she confirmed the engagement during an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ on Thursday, where she publicly dispelled reports that she had previously turned down Hunt’s proposal.

“I said yes, I will marry him,” Berry reportedly said, displaying her engagement ring on the show.

Speculation about the couple’s engagement had circulated since June 2025, when Hunt revealed that he had proposed but said Berry’s response was “on hold”. Berry later acknowledged that she had been hesitant initially, citing the fact that this would be her fourth marriage. For Hunt, a Grammy Award-winning musician, it will be his first.

Berry was previously married to former baseball player David Justice, singer Eric Benét, and French actor Olivier Martinez. She and Martinez divorced in 2016 after three years of marriage and share a son. Legal issues relating to child support and custody were finalised only in 2023.

As per reports, Berry recently said that while neither she nor Hunt felt compelled to marry, they wanted to formalise their commitment. She has described Hunt as the partner she “should have married all along”.

In addition to her acting career, Berry has remained active in public advocacy, particularly on women’s health issues. In December, she criticised California Governor Gavin Newsom for vetoing legislation aimed at improving access to medical care for menopausal women.

Berry is also the mother of two children from previous relationships.
