Netflix has announced another increase in its subscription price in the United States, marking the second hike this year. Earlier in January, the platform had already raised its monthly charges, and now users will have to pay even more across all plans.

Under the new pricing, the ad-supported plan has increased from $7.99 to $8.99 per month. The standard plan now costs $19.99, up from $17.99, while the premium plan has gone up to $26.99 from $24.99. Along with this, the cost of adding extra members has also risen. Users will now pay $6.99 for ad-supported add-ons and $9.99 for ad-free add-ons, both seeing a $1 increase.

Netflix says the reason behind this price hike is its growing investment in content. The company plans to spend around $20 billion on content in 2026, compared to $18 billion in 2025. This includes not just shows and movies, but also live events and video podcasts, as Netflix expands beyond traditional streaming.

The company believes that its wide range of content justifies the higher subscription costs. According to its executives, even with the increase, the platform remains an affordable entertainment option for users.

This price revision comes at a time when Netflix is seeing strong growth. The platform added 18.9 million subscribers in the last quarter of 2024, taking its global user base to 300 million. Despite rising prices, Netflix continues to position itself as a leading player in the global entertainment industry.
