Michael Jackson biopic trailer shatters viewership record with 116 million hits in a day

Michael Jackson is dominating headlines once again this time through the first look of his upcoming biopic titled Michael. Within just 24 hours of release, the official trailer racked up 116.2 million views online, making it the most-watched trailer debut ever for Lionsgate and the highest opening for any music biopic.

The film aims to dive deeper than the icon’s stadium-shaking fame, offering a look into who Michael was behind the spotlight. The trailer showcases Jaafar Jackson  the pop legend’s nephew  stepping into the role with striking likeness, from the classic moonwalk to the signature stage presence fans associate with the ‘Thriller’ era.

The movie’s star cast also includes Miles Teller as Jackson’s longtime lawyer John Branca, Colman Domingo as family patriarch Joe Jackson, Nia Long portraying Katherine Jackson, and Kat Graham playing Diana Ross. Laura Harrier, Kendrick Sampson and Juliano Krue Valdi  who plays the younger version of Michael  are also part of the ensemble.
