The 70th annual National Film Awards for films released in 2022 were announced today. The awards honouring the best films and cinematic achievements of the year 2022, which were announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) at a press conference in Delhi.

In the Feature Films section, Manasi Parekh and Nithya Menen have tied for Best Actress in a Leading Role Award. Manasi has bagged the award for Kutch Express (Gujarati) , while Nithya has won for Thiruchitrambalam (Tamil).

Kutch express was released in 2022, starring Manasi parekh in the lead role who also produced the film.The film also featured renowned actors Ratna Pathak Shah and Darsheel Safary. Movie centered on a woman's quest for empowerment following the discovery of her husband's betrayal, “Kutch Express” delves into themes of self-discovery and resilience.

The movie has also won the award for Best Feature Film promoting national, social, and environmental values.
