Reality TV star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has ignited controversy after expressing doubts about the authenticity of the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing, calling it staged during a recent episode of her Hulu series The Kardashians aired on OTT JioHotsar in India.

In the episode, Kardashian, 45, discussed the long-debunked conspiracy theory with actress Sarah Paulson, her co-star in the upcoming legal drama ‘All’s Fair’. During their chat on set, Kardashian claimed to have come across several convincing articles suggesting that the historic event might have been faked, even referencing interviews with astronaut Buzz Aldrin.

“He was asked about the scariest moment, and he said, ‘There wasn’t one because it didn’t happen,’” Kardashian remarked, implying that Aldrin’s age had led him to unintentionally reveal the truth.

Paulson appeared amused but unconvinced, encouraging Kardashian to share the material she had found.

Kardashian’s comments quickly spread online, drawing both ridicule and concern. NASA Acting Administrator Sean Duffy, however, was quick to reaffirm the facts. In a statement on X, the agency’s acting administrator said, “Yes, @KimKardashian, we’ve been to the Moon before… 6 times! And even better: @NASAArtemis is going back under the leadership of @POTUS.

We won the last space race and we will win this one to”

The moon-landing conspiracy theory, first circulated in the 1970s, claims the footage was filmed on Earth, a notion repeatedly disproven by photographic evidence, lunar rock analysis, and multiple subsequent missions.
