Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma’s Canada-based Kap’s Café has once again come under attack, marking the third such incident in recent months. According to reports, the latest firing took place early Thursday morning when unidentified assailants opened fire from a moving car at the café located at 85 Avenue and Scott Road in Surrey.
Eyewitnesses reported that around nine to ten bullets were fired, leaving the café’s exterior damaged, with shattered glass and bullet marks visible on the walls. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, though the property sustained heavy damage.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the latest firing. This comes just weeks after gangster Goldy Dhillon, said to be associated with the Bishnoi network, had claimed responsibility for a similar attack on August 7.
At that time, Dhillon had posted on social media claiming the firing was intended as a warning, adding that if Sharma did not respond, “further action” could follow.
Notably, Kap’s Café—co-managed by Kapil Sharma’s wife, Ginni Chatrath — was first attacked on July 10, when at least nine rounds were fired at the property. That attack was claimed by Harjeet Singh Laddi, alias Laddi Khalistani, linked to the banned outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
Local authorities have launched an investigation into what appears to be a series of organized attacks targeting the comedian’s café.
