The Gandinagar district court has sentenced Ramneet Devnandan Ramrup Yadav to life imprisonment until his natural death for the sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl in Sector-24 in Gandhinagar. The court also ordered financial compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the victim. Yadav, a native of Bihar employed as a labourer in Sector-25 GIDC, was convicted under provisions of the Indian Penal Code, 2023, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, as per reports.

On December 15, 2025, the accused entered the victim’s residence in Indira Nagar Chhapra, Sector-24, while the family was asleep. He abducted the child, assaulted her in a nearby secluded area, and abandoned her in a critical condition.

Following a complaint at Sector-21 police station, the Gandhinagar District Police, under district police chief Ravi Teja Wasam Shetty, arrested Yadav within days using CCTV footage and technical surveillance.

The court imposed a life sentence without parole based on strong evidence. Legal experts noted that such judgments are crucial for deterrence and maintaining public trust in the justice system.
