The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has withdrawn its non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh with immediate effect following intervention by industry bodies and the actor's decision to serve a legal notice to the organisation.

The directive, which was issued last month, stemmed from Singh's exit from the upcoming film ‘Don 3’ amid reports of creative differences and production delays.

FWICE president B N Tiwari said the decision to revoke the directive was taken after requests from the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association, the Producers Guild of India and the Cine & TV Artistes' Association.

"We are taking back our non-cooperation directive with immediate effect after requests from IMPPA, the Producers Guild and CINTAA. We have been advised that all stakeholders should sit together and arrive at an appropriate solution where neither producers and directors nor the actor face any issues," Tiwari said.

He added that the matter should not be viewed as a victory or defeat for either side.

"No one has won or lost in this matter. Our legal department will respond to his legal notice," Tiwari said.

The development came hours after reports emerged that Singh had sent a legal notice to FWICE challenging the non-cooperation directive. Details of the notice have not been made public, and the organisation has not disclosed its contents.

The dispute arose following Singh's departure from ‘Don 3’, which is being directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Excel Entertainment.

According to media reports, Singh exited the project due to creative differences with the makers, concerns over repeated production delays and the absence of a finalised script. What initially appeared to be a routine casting change later escalated into a broader industry dispute.

Reports have suggested that Excel Entertainment sought compensation of ₹45 crore following the actor's exit, while FWICE subsequently issued its non-cooperation directive.

Throughout the controversy, Singh largely refrained from making public comments. His spokesperson had earlier stated that the actor preferred to handle professional disagreements privately and with mutual respect.

"Throughout the recent developments surrounding ‘Don 3’, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect," the spokesperson had said.
