A road accident near Hyderabad has reportedly caused tragedy for Prabhas-starrer Fauji, where one crew member died and a few others were injured.

As per reports, the accident did not happen on the film set. A production car going to the shooting location reportedly lost control and hit an under-construction road divider near Toopranpet village in Choutuppal, a few kilometres away from Ramoji Film City. The incident happened early Tuesday morning.

The person who died has been identified as Rudraraju Veera Venkata Ramaraju (40), who worked as a caterer for the film unit. He reportedly suffered a serious head injury and was declared dead at the hospital. Five others in the car were also injured, and at least three of them are in critical condition.

Police said there were no clear signs of skidding on the road. Initial inquiry suggests overspeeding could be the reason, but investigation is still going on. A case has been registered.

Meanwhile, the shooting of Fauji is continuing as planned.

Fauji, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, is a patriotic war film set in the pre-Independence period. It also stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada, and Imanvi Esmail.
