Farhan Akhtar puts ‘Don 3’ on hold to revive his dream project ‘Jee Le Zaraa’

Farhan Akhtar has decided to temporarily step away from Don 3 and refocus his energy on a film that has been close to his heart for years, Jee Le Zaraa, according to reports. The long awaited road trip drama starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt is finally back on track, much to the excitement of fans.
While Don 3 has remained in the spotlight amid casting speculations following Ranveer Singh’s exit, Farhan is reportedly in no rush to move forward. Insiders reveal that the filmmaker believes the casting of the iconic character is crucial and requires time.
With Don 3 currently on a pause, Farhan has reignited discussions around Jee Le Zaraa, a project he has often referred to as his dream film. The movie promises a heartfelt blend of friendship, fun, and emotional depth reminiscent of Farhan’s earlier classics Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
The script for Jee Le Zaraa is already locked and creatively ready to roll. The only hurdle so far has been aligning the schedules of its three leading ladies, all of whom have packed professional commitments. According to sources, if dates fall into place, the film could finally go on floors in the second half of 2026.
Backed by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby, ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ is being seen as the final chapter in their much-loved trilogy of friendship films. Adding to the nostalgia, the project will reunite the original Dil Chahta Hai creative trio, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti.
If all goes as planned, Jee Le Zaraa may finally see the light of day, marking one of the most anticipated Bollywood reunions in recent years and fulfilling a long-standing dream for both the filmmakers and fans alike.
