Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has reportedly approached Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), a film body, by registering a complaint against actor Ranveer Singh over his alleged exit from Don 3. Following the complaint, the body is now set to hold a press conference on May 25 and announce its decision on the matter.

The FWICE is considered as one of India’s leading film trade union bodies, established in 1956, representing more than 500,000 members across the film and television industry in Western India. It is considered a non-political organisation, serves as the parent body of 38 craft associations and works to protect the rights, interests and welfare of cinema and television employees, including matters related to employment conditions and economic safeguards.

The federation has reportedly said that it would address the complaint filed by Farhan Akhtar against Ranveer Singh regarding his alleged withdrawal from Don 3 during the press conference on May 25.

The federation further stated that the complaint was received through its affiliated body, the Indian Film and Television Directors' Association (IFTDA), of which Akhtar is a member.

Speculation surrounding Don 3 intensified after reports claimed that Ranveer Singh had stepped away from the project. While the actor has not issued any official statement, reports suggested that creative differences over the script and the film’s direction may have contributed to the situation. Reports also claimed that Farhan had explored the possibility of replacing Ranveer.

Meanwhile, reports suggested that Excel Entertainment was considering seeking compensation of nearly Rs 40 crore, citing investments already made in pre-production and disruptions to scheduling plans. Singh was also reportedly willing to compensate for the alleged losses.
