A former executive at Beast Industries has reportedly filed a federal lawsuit alleging sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation within the organisation founded by YouTuber MrBeast, according to a The New York Times report.

As per reports, Lorrayne Mavromatis, a Brazilian-born social media professional who joined the company in 2022 and led its Instagram operations, claimed she experienced a ‘toxic workplace’ culture. The lawsuit, filed in a North Carolina federal court, alleges that despite early success and multiple promotions, she faced adverse actions after raising concerns about workplace conduct in late 2023, including a demotion, transfer, and eventual termination.

Reportedly, the complaint details instances of inappropriate behaviour by senior leadership. Mavromatis alleges a former CEO sought private meetings at his home and made comments about her appearance. She also claimed that when she reported inappropriate behaviour by a client, her concerns were dismissed. The lawsuit further describes a broader environment where female employees were allegedly interrupted, demeaned, and treated unequally compared to male colleagues.

According to the filing, she characterised the workplace as a “boys’ club” and accused executives of making insensitive remarks, including during discussions involving female participants in company productions. She also alleged that internal policies were inadequate, reportedly citing troubling language in employee guidelines and a lack of clear mechanisms to report harassment at the time.

The lawsuit additionally raises claims of pregnancy discrimination. Mavromatis stated she was pressured to work during labour and maternity leave, and was dismissed within weeks of returning to work.

In response, Beast Industries has denied the allegations, reportedly calling the lawsuit a clout-chasing complaint and stating it intends to contest the claims in court. The company maintains that her role was eliminated as part of restructuring and disputes the characterisation of workplace conduct.
