Doctor linked to Matthew Perry’s ketamine overdose to plead guilty

Dr Salvador Plasencia, who has been linked to the 2023 death of actor Matthew Perry, is reportedly set to plead guilty in connection with the case.
As per reports, Plasencia has accepted a plea deal related to the illegal distribution of ketamine and could face up to 40 years in prison, along with a fine of up to $2 million.
According to court documents, Dr Plasencia has agreed to plead guilty to four counts of ketamine distribution. He admitted in the plea agreement that he supplied an excessive dose of the drug to Perry, despite the actor not having a medical condition that warranted its use.
Plasencia also reportedly acknowledged that his actions fell below the expected standard of medical care.
Documents further reveal that Plasencia became aware of Perry’s interest in ketamine and began providing it to him. He allegedly obtained the drug through transactions with an individual named Chavez, and the ketamine was then administered to Perry by another associate, Iwamasa.
Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the television series Friends, was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023. While drowning was initially suspected, a toxicology report later confirmed that the cause of death was the acute effects of ketamine.
