Dhanush’s ‘D56’ Directed By Tamizharasan Pachamuthu Goes On Floors In Madurai

Director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu’s much-awaited film D56, starring Dhanush in the lead, has officially gone on floors in Madurai with a traditional pooja ceremony.

Dhanush Leads Ensemble Cast

Written and directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, the film is currently being referred to as #D56.

Dhanush will headline the project, with Vadivelu and SJ Suryah joining him in prominent roles. Vijay B Kumar and Preity Mukundhan are also part of the cast and will be seen in pivotal roles.

Sai Abhyankkar To Compose Music

Music for the film will be composed by Sai Abhyankkar, marking his second consecutive collaboration with Dhanush after Om.

The film is jointly produced by Sithara Entertainments, Srikara Studios and Primark Productions.

The makers unveiled the film’s launch with a poster featuring an imposing traditional doorway covered with numerous bells. The poster also introduced Dhanush in an intriguing character design while keeping details about the film under wraps.

The announcement carried the line “Paari Vettaikku Pandakaal Nattachu”, adding to the curiosity surrounding the project.

Film Set For Summer 2027 Release

According to sources close to the unit, further details about the supporting cast and technicians will be announced officially soon.

D56 is scheduled to arrive in theatres in summer 2027.

Pachamuthu had earlier announced in March that he had begun location recce for the film. He shared a monochrome picture of himself seated in a temple on X with the Tamil caption, “Kelambiyaachu” (Have started), along with the hashtags #Recce and #D56.

Tamizharasan Pachamuthu is known for his critically acclaimed film Lubber Pandhu, which featured Harish Kalyan, Attakathi Dinesh, Swaswika and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy in the lead roles.
