Deepika Padukone gears up for Hollywood comeback with ‘XXX’ sequel after actor’s Kalki sequel exit

Movie buffs were left stunned after Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone was officially removed from the highly anticipated Kalki 2898 AD sequel. Reports suggest the actress is now eyeing a Hollywood comeback with Vin Diesel in the next instalment of the XXX franchise, where she previously starred alongside the Hollywood action star.

Just four days ago, Vin Diesel shared a cryptic Instagram post, writing, “So much to share… iconic stories that all resonate with something deep inside. A global audience who has literally been the blessing of this artist’s life. Groot’s return in the Arbor King, that infamous New York Detective, Kaulder’s Oath, Xander’s next adventure in Mumbai, Street racers reunited in LA, and of course, the Furyan… Grateful for you all… Hope to make you proud…”

Confirming Padukone’s exit, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD, Vyjayanthi Movies, issued a statement hinting that the decision stemmed from scheduling and commitment issues.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the production house wrote:

“This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel to Kalki 2898 AD. After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. A film like Kalki 2898 AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works.”

Hitting back, Deepika shared a cryptic note on her Instagram handle saying that, “People you work with matter more than the success of a film”.
