Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly is rumored to have a cameo in the upcoming Netflix series ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’. Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, when asked about Ganguly’s possible appearance during the trailer launch event in Kolkata, reportedly hinted at the possibility but did not confirm it outright.

The crime drama, a follow-up to ‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’ (2022), is set in early 2000s Kolkata and follows an IPS officer taking on crime, corruption, and political power. The series is directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray and co-written by Pandey, Mandal, and Samrat Chakraborty.

The series boasts a  Bengali cast, including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, and Saswata Chatterjee, making it the first Hindi drama to feature an entirely Bengali ensemble. The trailer showcases a narrative of an officer challenging the system.

Pandey, known for his  storytelling in films like A Wednesday!, Special 26, Baby, and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, has established himself as a filmmaker who blends realism with intense narratives.  He has also explored the web series format with projects like Special OPS, which was well-received for its espionage-based storyline.
